Tahoe Park is an area on the northwestern side of Lake Tahoe, located approximately 2.5 miles south of Tahoe City and in the generally area known as Sunnyside Resort. It is home to the private, gated Tahoe Park Beach and close to the Homewood, Alpine Meadows and Squaw Valley ski resorts. This is generally described as the “quiet side” of the lake, nestled in the Tahoe National Forest where there are miles of trails for hiking and mountain biking. Tahoe Park Beach has 850 feet of lake frontage, two piers, boat buoys, picnic facilities, a volleyball court, horseshoe pits, playground, basketball court and open areas. Other recreational activities just outside Tahoe Park include rock climbing, golf, miniature golf, fishing, wildlife viewing, swimming, diving, boating, sailing and parasailing. In wintertime, there is skiing, sledding, snowmobiling and snowboarding. Nearby Tahoe City has lots of shopping and restaurants, and South Lake Tahoe is approximately 40 minutes away and has gambling, live shows and theater, museums, world class shopping and dining.

How To Prepare For Your Tahoe Park Vacation?
I like the idea of taking winter vacations Tahoe Park because it can be a way to enjoy the snow and take a break from trying to live normal daily life while fighting with it. Snow is beautiful but not if you're sitting on the highway for three hours watching it fall and snarl traffic, preventing you from getting home. One of my favorite winter vacations was the time we went to Vermont to ski and snowshoe, and even though I was certainly cold, it didn't bother me as much because I was doing things that were fun. I wasn't waking up in the cold and heading out to work in the dark, feeling like my blood would freeze before I ever reached a warm building.
